I was talking with a co-worker about sports a few days ago, and I decided to make a list of all of the venues where I have watched major sports during my life. This started with the "stick and ball" sports, but of course I decided to add racetracks as well, and I included all forms of motorsports, including boat and air racing. Here's my list of racing venues that I've attended at least once:

    American Le Mans Series Racing:
    Road Atlanta, Braselton, GA

    Formula 1 Grand Prix Racing:
    Detroit street circuit, Detroit
Long Beach street circuit, Long Beach, CA
    Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve, Montreal
Watkins Glen International, Watkins Glen, NY

    IndyCar Racing:
Barber Motorsports Park, Birmingham, AL (test session)
Meadowlands road course, East Rutherford, NJ

    NHRA Drag Racing:
    Atlanta Dragway, Commerce, GA
Old Bridge Twp Raceway Park, Englishtown, NJ
Gainesville Raceway, Gainesville, FL (rained out)
    Pacific Raceways, Kent, WA

    Vintage Racing (stand-alone events):
    Barber Motorsports Park, Birmingham, AL
    Road Atlanta, Braselton, GA
    Pacific Raceways, Kent, WA
Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, Monterey, CA
    Circuit Mont-Tremblant, St-Jovite, QC
Watkins Glen International, Watkins Glen, NY

    Unlimited Hydroplane Racing:
    Ohio River, Madison, IN
    Miami Marine Stadium, Miami
Delaware River, Philadelphia (no contest – wind)
    Lake Washington, Seattle

    Limited Hydroplane Racing:
    St. Lucie River, Stuart, FL

    Air Racing:
    Executive Airport, Fort Lauderdale

As to which one I've attended the most, that has to be Road Atlanta, including at least one sports car race every one of the 14 years I've lived here, along with at least one vintage racing event most years and a couple of Ferrari Challenge events as well.

Next up would be Montreal, with 13 G.P.s attended, and the Seattle hydroplane course, with a similar number of events. Watkins Glen and the Atlanta Dragway would be next.

Notice: no NASCAR or oval tracks of any kind, unless you include figure-8 races at the old Islip Speedway on Long Island! :D

    Now let's see everyone else's lists. ;)

    I've watched from the following:

Laguna Seca, many years, up to 1989, from the windscreen of my entry,

Sears Point (now known as Infineon), again for many years, from the windscreen of my entry, and in 85, didn't get much of a view, since I led and won, all but one of the races that I started there that year.

Daytona, again as an entrant, from 1972 to 1989.

Riverside, as an entrant, from 1971 through 1981, as an entrant, and as a passenger on a sidecar. Led a National there until my bike puked, causing me substantial mental anguish.

Pheonix, as an entrant, from 1975 to 1985.

Road America, as an entrant, 1985 to 1989

    Mid-Ohio, as an entrant, 1980 to 1985

Portland, as an entrant from 1972 through 1989

Seattle, as an entrant from 1973 through 1989

Isle of Mann, as an entrant for 1985 and 1988

Indy, as a spectator for the 01 Formula 1 race, and again last year for the Moto
    GP race

Vacavile, 1969 to 1974, and the 1970 race is memorialized by Kenny Roberts autobiography in his Robert's chronicles, number 3. What he doesn't mention in that article, is that he lost, and that it was his kid's lawyer.

    Cotati, from 1970 through 1975

    Ontario, from 1975 through 1980.

I might be off a year or two on the years, and I've probably omitted a few tracks, but that is the best of my recollection.
