Hey, thanks for the warm thoughts.

Cara is still at WWoC as Dean scours sources for parts.
I hope she's repairable. The jury is still out.

How about a new thread? What should Clyde get "just in case" ???

    I was thinking;
The car has to have personality, but speed isn't a high requirement.
if it's a Ferrari, it really needs to be red/tan.

another 308? maybe. 1979 (love them carbs) or 1983-85 GTS or GTB
    328? Nope.
    348? na ah.
    355? Mmmm, maybe
360? lacks flair though the spyder is nice
    430? No stick, no way.
Mondi? no thanks. Sam has had too many problems.
TestaRossa? I'm being warned against them, but I love the wide back ends.
    400,456,550 ? Too big. And I don't want a GT

Lambo? It's best to be yellow/black. maybe yellow/tan.
Countach? Now here I'd go for white. But a Countach would be sweet
    Diablo? sure. 6.0 or SV
Merci? No. Gallardo? No. Muria? No.

    Pantera? well, maybe.
    Porsche? Sorry Eric, no.
Jaguar? maybe an early type E series I. Green or red or blue.
Vette? As practicle and modifiable and silly fast as they are Rob, I'll pass.

    BMW,Audi,MB, Alpha....no thanks.

    What else am I missing?

BTW: I'm really missing my car. Especially this time of year.

C'mon Clyde, where's the love, you know what you're forgetting, the instant classic/collectible, hand made, aluminum, mid engine-rear drive, not it's not a F-car................................it's a Japparrari, I mean NSX!!!!!

Ya know, I did forget the NSX. They are sweet rides. But a bit too "comfy" for me. Just like the 360 & later Ferraris. But if it were an NSX, then black or yellow is the only way to go.

And to your point Greg: of course I'm all over the map. The 308 couldn't produce enough reliable power out of that alternator to install a GPS system for stream-lined navigation. That was part of her charm :p

Clyde, the early NSX's didn't have power steering, sooooooooooo it'd have to be black, yellow didn't come out till years later!!!!! Take Bailey's for a spin, it even sounds Italian with the Tubi on it!!!

    My $.02.

The 308 is probably the nicest looking Ferrari ever - but I am biased. However, more umph would be nice.

The 355 would be my choice.

Always adored the Countach. But parts and maintenance is costly.

Pantera - my buddy has one. It is a monster. The best thing about it - he can pick up parts anywhere at real reasonable costs, and working on the motor is a snap. So many upgrade options too!

Good luck Clyde, hope it all works out to your favor.

Well, you could start by spelling ALFA right ;)

ANYWay, I think the ONLY car you want is...another 308!

i know Clyde i am trying to work on a Murci.
i don't even have the Ferrari for a year and yet and i want to step up to a Murci.
I think the plan is like this

    Currently Ferrari 360
    next year Murci
    2 years Carrera GT
    3-4 yrs Zonda
and hopefully one day an Enzo
    Future looks good no?

Crap. Anything is fixable, it's just a matter of time and $$. Turn her into a track car if nothing else. :)

A Pantera or Mangusta would be exceedingly cool (and just as rare), too. I've always wanted to build one up with a Viper V10 or something equally silly.
