In a December 1992 issue of Road & Track (pg66) there is a small photo of David Piper's green (not British racing green mind you, but more of an apple green) 250 GTO. I find this car extremely beautiful but I've never seen any other photos of it in this colour. Does anyone know where it is or if it has since been resprayed? Please post a photo if possible. Thanx!

Thanks for the post, but in the photo in the Road & Track (wish I could post it but I dont have a scanner) it is parked next to Jean Alesi's formula 1 car and maybe its just the light, but it doesn't look Bp green more of a lighter hue. Beautiful though.

According to Bluemel and Pourret, David Piper owned both of these cars, which have been BP (not BR) green. He owned 3767 (left photo) for a short time. The car is now red. He owned 4491 (right photo) for several years on 2 different occasions and made extensive performance changes. It is BP green again.

Thanks for the post. I've always wanted to see another photo of the car, it certainly is one of my favourites. The color is amazing IMHO. Can you tell me where I can find more photos of this car (high resolution maybe?).

    Hello

GTO s/n 3767 GT is owned by Sir Anthony Bamford / GB with plate 63 GTO. It was entered in the 40th Anniversary Moet & Chandon Tour in Burgundy 2002 with start # 23 as one of 22 GTO's. I also have seen it at the fabulous FOC UK National Meet & Concours at Heythorp Park some days ago.

I have several copies of the magazine "250 GTO Anniversary Meet 2002" for sale - it is very rare....my event CD is also available. Please contact me ONLY to my PRIVATE address.

GTO s/n 4491 GT is owned by Lucchini but we haven't seen it for years.

Thanks for the info, I love non-red Ferraris too. When I first saw the 250 GTO in this colour I almost had a heart attack! It' s not only green but my favourite hue and it's a GTO, what are the chances?

By the way Helmut, does anyone know why Lucchini doesn't display it, or why it hasn't been seen in years?
