    does anyone know what the reconizing marks on the crank is that tells me what tdc is on a 1988 ferrari 328 built in late 87 don't know if it matters

    On the flywheel there are a series of marks. The one you are looking for is PM|1-4. The stroke mark in the middle is TDC.

    There is nothing on the front of the engine that I know of, you need to remove the cover plate at the top of the bell housing just below the oil filter to see it.

    There are 10 marks on the flywheel - 5 for each bank so you will also come across PM|5-8 somewhere in there (which is TDC for the front bank) but you are looking for PM|1-4
