As some know, I bought an 89T this past summer and am slowly righting all that has been wronged on the car... One of the issues was a malfunctioning door lock. Everytime you depressed the drivers's door lock it would just start automatically popping up and down. We figured on a bad solenoid in the door. $350 or so later I have a new solenoid in the door but it is still not working right. My mechanic thinks it is the "door lock controller." This is attainable from Ferrari for $177. Problem is, we don't know where in the car this controller is located... it is not in the door. And the Ferrari parts guy didn't know either. Can someone steer me to the right placein the car? Incidentally, when we took it apart we found all kinds of funky wiring where someone had spliced in connections for a clifford alarm with remote door lock. That is likely the route of the problem... That was one of many odd things we found as we return the car to its original condition.

    Thanks,

    AML

Sorry to bump this back to the top of the forum....surely someone must know where this "door lock controller" is located... It is one of the last things I need to get fixed. I just put a new $350 solenoid in the door but that hasn't solved it. I did not find it refernced anywhere in the OM. Somebody.... Anybody.... Thanks.

This might be a question for the Q&A section, as this might be relevant on 348 etc... which aren't in this category.

If its any help, I have an 83Qv and I removed the solenoid below. But when I removed other relevant wiring under the dash I found no controller. I always thought it was just the solenoid which is operated by the key and thats all thats needed, unless they changed all this on later models

    Hope this info helps

Look for the simple fix. If the passenger dook lock does not completely function then the driver's side will not function either (and visa versa). I've heard that something as simple as the unscrewing the locking knob on the passenger side a couple of turns will allow it to fully seat and solve the problem.
