It sounds as if he can basically choose between Ferrari, Renault, and McLaren. Let's assuming money offerings are fairly equal from all interested parties.

He must consider any rules changes and how said teams can adapt to new rules, personnel at the respective teams, as well as present progress being made by said teams. What should he do?

I'd like to see him at Ferrari paired with Schumi, but he should go to Renault. It's the most logical decision, plain and simple. Least resistance, highest chance of success.

    100% agree.

Renault will give Kimi the best shot at the 2008 championship assuming they get a grip on the Bridgestone tires over the winter. Otherwise Ferrari will clinch it as it has the most miles on B'stone.

You have a point, but: I think the 2007 BS tire will be a very different animal from what they've been using in the past few years. It will be some rather hard compound, that will work everywhere giving soso grip and endless durability. With the tire war gone, they can focus on lowering production costs and lowering cornering speeds with an average tire. I think every team will complain about lack of grip next year and everybody will face the same handicap.

In F1, anything can happen from one year to the next. With everything being equal, and assuming that all three teams will produce relatively equal machines for him to drive, I would say Ferrari simply because of the tyres situation that had already been mentioned.

Kimi is no number 2, especially not to MS. They will never be teammates, Kimi's just too fast and will wax Schumacher. MS would never go for that. Renualt

Has MS ever had an equal teammate? I rest my case. Why would he start now? I think the Kimi thing was dead as soon as MS announced he was not going to retire. If Kimi is smart he'll go to Renault, how ever you wanna spell it....................:)

Actually he had a teammate that almost beat him to the title in 1999.

I would like to see Kimi go to Ferrari. I think Ferrari is a better long term option for Kimi than Renault. Michael has nothing left to prove if you ask me. I think it would be great if michael was OK with having such a talented teamate. Michael will only be around 2 more years while Kimi will be around for a long time to come. Michael could play Shaq and Kimi could be Dwayne Wade :). It would be great to see Michael thank Ferrari for everything they have done for him by allowing them to get one of the best F1 drivers on board as soon as possible.

I look for Ferrari to be stronger next year. They will have had another year of development on the V8 engine and their relationship with Brigestones should give them an advantage even if the tires are considerably different than this year. Also Renault says they will continue to invest heavily in F1 but who knows if that is really true. They are losing their star and if Renault and Nissan suddenly start to tank they will yank F1 spending right away. Whereas Ferrari will continue to invest heavily.

Ferrair so when schumi retires they will have a good driver to replace him. He'll take the fight to alonso.

Look Kimi pulled over for his new teammate on the weekend, the signs are all their. It would be awesome to see Schumie and Kimi battling it out at Ferrari and ppl who think he would be no2 are smoking to many cones and ppl who think he is the fastest are also smoking to many cones.

everyone knows that MS has nothing to proove more but there is one more thing. don't you think 7 time world champ would enjoy help developing future champion like kimi. I'm sure MS knows that he is getting older and harder to be competitive. to wrap up his f1 career, i think he would enjoy develop a driver to replace him. what a way to wrap up his career with 7 or 8 WDC. who knows MS might stick around ferrari and take over JT's job.

I can't see Schumi ever doing that. At least not as a driver.

I was going to say the same thing; he doesn't even look happy when he's on the top step of the podium.
