    Hello Fellow "F"-Chatters,

I was just wondering if there's a better position for the gear selector to be in place i.e. nuetral, 1st, 2nd etc., while performing the shift shaft seals in my 79 308GTB?
    Thank you, Chris.

Chris -- 2nd is maybe useful to use on reassembly to get it roughed in, but it's not that critical (i.e., it's not a case of where you have to disassemble it in 2nd and not touch it thereafter -- you have the pan off so you can see it all work).

One good aid IMO is to make some marks on the three rotatable components so that you can make the fine adjustments later and know how far you've moved.
