I just had the same experience almost exactly as you described. "Quite a saga" is an understatement, but it all worked out in the end.

 

I have been looking at Superformance - just the shipping and import duties to consider.

What prices are people typically paying in North America for replacement screens ?

I have never paid import duties on items bought from Superformance including a set of wheels. I don't know why this is. I have paid customs on parts from Eurospares and they are also in the UK. I don't know what the difference is.

 

In 2007 I had my '83 308 windshield replaced at Elite/Safelite, cost of the windshield was $1130. I had to wait 5 months for the damn thing to get shipped from somewhere across the pond.

 

i bought one in 2005 for 700.00 usd from locan, on the east coast. prompt delivery and then i broke it myself installing it. pay someone to do the job for you.
