I'm about to start on my 30k service project. I have most of the parts gathered up and have done my research. Does anyone know where to buy a proper manual with engine removal procedures and timing instructions. I've seen all of the pirated DVDs on Ebay , but want to have a real manual incase I run into trouble. Any help is appreciated.

Adam- There is no difference between the paper manuals and the digital manuals unless you just like to get finger prints all over paper. In that case, go to this website, download all three volumes for free, print yourself a copy, and have a ball. Nice thing is if you get it all dirty, you can just print a new one. Buy lots of paper.

If you want an original paper copy or each volume, yell, but expect to pay several hundred dollars for it.

Some of the best technical info on majors is here on FChat and FatBillyBob degreed his cams in tech q&a.

Thanks Taz, believe it or not there were no detailed engine out procedures in the repair manual. I was kind of hoping there was a specific service book . I did my 550 timing belt myself (on a wing and a prayer) but the 355 is a whole different aminal. I can't seem to find any detailed instructions for that service anywhere.

Ernie's posts on 348/355 engine removal are great.
As many know RF128706 posted great Pdf files (with pics) on the 355 (manual, but good for F1 too) engine removal. You will find the goodies on ........

RF128706 was planning to post up other sections but left the forum for reasons that I don't know. A great pity for all of us.
