Figure this is probably the best place to ask this question:

When a customer of mine purchases a Gift Certificate, I like to include a little model of the car they'll be renting. Until now, I've just been going and buying whatever 1:18 models the local shop (Exoticar on 48th & park) has in stock. Usually the hotwheels 1:18s (~$30 a pop).

But they've now run out of stock (I've bought them all!), and I also realized that going over to a store and purchasing a model at full Park Ave. retail prices probably isn't the most scalable plan.

So any ideas where I can get a decent quantity (10 - 20) of models online at a reasonable price? I need Ferrari 360 coupe & spider, gallardo, bentley, porsche, etc. Particular brand doesn't matter ... most important is that the models are inexpensive and can be ordered in quantity (i.e. ebay won't cut it).

    Thanks folks!

I would think you need to go to the distributor for Exoticar, Speedgear, Replicarz, etc. and eliminate the middle man. The Mattel website has many numbers to contact for customer service and could point you in the right direction.

The catch may be a minimum number to buy that may be more than you want.

Good suggestion. Thanks Mule ... I'll look into that.

Any other ideas about online retailers where I can buy direct? Assuming i just want 10 - 20 units...

Here's a wholesaler to try. They'll almost certainly be able to supply HW Modenas. You should also be able to find the Porsches you need under the Maisto brand.

Maisto made a Gallardo as well, but I don't see the stock version listed currently, just the "Playerz" version with silly wheels. If you want to ask about the stock version, the Maisto item number is 31655.

You've got a neat idea. Good luck.

I get all of mine from Sams Club for $10 bucks each.
