Anyone know where I can purchase a protection relay for my 84 QV? I understand they do not make them anymore.

All K-jetronic cars w/lambda use a similar relay. I got mine from an authorized Bosch dealer using the Bosch #; would also carry the part to a VW or Volvo dealer

I don't recall hearing that term 'protection' before. Just what does it protect?

    Bought one from Ricambi.
The relay has to do with the frequency valve and is next to the jetronic system.

It "protects" the injection ECU from the alternator going overvoltage or from drawing too much current (and it has a bunch of input signals necessary to make it close) -- a better English translation IMO would've been something like "safety power control relay for injection system".

    Steve,
Just want to say a HUGE thanks for posting awhile back about the 328/Testarossa relay and how to make it work in a 308QV. I received mine today from Ricambi, made the mods and it worked perfectly!!!! I am back on the road better than ever. Thanks again
