I'm going to be buying a few diecasts and starting a collection, I was wondering what a good place to buy from. I'm wanting 1:18 and I am wanting a reasonable price but good quality.

    Thank you,
    Kevin

    Kevin,

#1: Exoticar.com ( Look for sale items, has a great selection regardless. )
    #2: Ewa1.com
    #3: ScaleCars.com
    #4: Prestigediecast.com
#5: for hard to find upper scale, legacydiecast.com
#6: Towerhobby.com has both great priced die-cast and just about any remote controlled vehicle one can think of.

Good luck with your collecting. Keep us posted on the growth of your collection.

    Rocketboy,

Thanks, I went ahead and got them off legacydiecast. I purchased an Enzo, 612 Scagiletti, Saleen S351 Coupe, and Diablo S.V. I appreciate you taking the time to answer my post and hope to get more involved in my newfound hobby.

CavallinoModels I'm sure they offer great service and all but I can't justify the prices. Maybe for the custom work, but I'm just wanting to buy a few cars here and there. I'm not a hardcore collector yet. I might try them in the future though.

Yes our prices maybe higher then some other places, but we have 95% of discontinued Ferrari models in stock and they don't.

    Hey,

Thanks for responding to my thread. I really like the layout of your website and you have alot of nice models. I will be buying from you guys in the future, I'm looking at a few custom cars I want. I just want to start a collection first, I'd rather start out with 20 basic cars instead of spend that money and get 2-3. But I will be trying you guys out in the future. Your site layout is good and you guys sponsor f-chat.

    Thanks,
    Kevin

All i can say is WOW!! Ya sure you have discontinued models but does that make them worth 3 times more than original retail. Your web site has the same models as most Auction sites. I guess it's all about the famous Cavallino logo on the box $$$$$$. I will go back to Ebay now.

Target is a great place to find models. 612, 360CS, 166 MM Barchetta and 2 Enzo's in the last few weeks. Lots of other cars in the past. Also, if you want to buld up quick, Sam's Club will start carrying 1:18 Maisto cars here in a month or so. They usually have them September to Christmas for $9.99, but no Ferrari's. Toy stores are good places and even grocery stores. The HEB by my house has a nice selection of Maisto and Hotwheels.

It is not about Cavallino logo. All discontinued models are not available in US, we have to buy them from around the world and pay a lot more then they used to be retail at. Plus shipping is very expansive from Europe and Asia. Yes ebay is less money but they not always have what you looking for.

Don't make a defense for yourself. Everyone on Fchat knows if they want a 1:18 scale model in the same color scheme of their own car, you're the place to go. In this guy's case he is simply starting up a collection. I would think the sites I listed, ( which have simple stock Hotwheels for good prices and from my experience give no shipping hassles, ) a decent way to go. Lest say he, or just about anyone else, wants a custom job: then Cavallino is the only way to go. You sponsor this site so we thank you regardless, I only wish you gave BBR better competition and more competitive pricing on those great but small scale BBR models...

Anyone shop or have experience with www.TheF1Store.com? I am hoping to buy some items from them but do not feel so secure having an overseas source. How about www.italianimage.com? Any word on these two places?

    RocketBoy

PS: Where is a decent place, apart from the outdated and slow moving speedgear.com, to get in this solar system prices on the latest Fila Ferrari gear?

Go to www.towerhobbies.com. Search the site and sign up for their newsletter. The first email you get from them will be $20 off your next purchase of $50 or more. Buy 2 Ferraris at about $25/each, then take the $20 discount. You now have 2 Ferraris for $15/each plus shipping.

Dang! I didn't sign up for the newsletter when I ordered the Hotwheels 166 Barchetta last weekend. I got the model today-for $24.50 a really nice, well detailed and proportioned display model -a good value. Tower was also first class to buy from. A+

I am now going to sign up for the newsletter and order the Lusso and another classic model. I was waiting to see the Barchetta before I ordered the Lusso, and am glad I checked here before doing so.

I just received my 250 Gt Lusso and my 166MM today. The red on the 250 GT Lusso, is not the right color. I would really prefer to have this car in another color. I think maybe silver, black, or a blue would be nice. The red that is on that car, just isn't right. The 166MM needs some more leather work, I guess that I will have to do this myself.
