    Hi...........

390-millimeter TRX wheels !?? The tire supply dwindles each day.

TRX Michelin tires may be purchased from Coker Tire Company @

    www.coker.com

    or:

    Longstone Tyres in England @

    www.longstonetyres.co.uk/radial.php !!

Check the links at the Longstone site at the left side of the radial tire page. Use "R390" in the "Vintage Products" search function at the Coker site.

    Good luck !!!!!!

    Hi again...............

Performed a "Search for Tires by Size" at the Tire Rack site. Found Michelin TRX 220/55-R390 for $209 per tire. No 240 tire at the site in any of the three TRX size categories.

Be sure to scroll down to the special TRX designations for tread width and rim diameter at the search engine:

    http://www.tirerack.com/tires/SearchTires.jsp

Perhaps a phone call would be a better approach.

Avon, now owned by Cooper Tires, makes or used to make a model CR28 in TRX sizes. I don't know if they are imported to the USA any more. They might be had from England. I think I remember Verell posting he bought a set for his car and was happy with them.

    Hi...........

Just went to the High Performance Tire site @ www.hptire.net. No TRX tires for the Mondial in stock.

Search engine only goes back to 1984; no Boxer tires either.

    205/70VR14

Labeled: "Comp T/A 70V" in raised black outline letters.

I'm probably gonna go with Goodyear AquaTread 3s next.

I ended up buying them here in the UK. I live in Canada and paid about $400 USD in the door. Much better than the $1000 a piece I started at. THe tires are something like 15.6". Why the hell did they do that. It scares me in the long term for buying tires.

    Hi.........

The metric TRX tires and wheels were an "experiment". Obviously a concept which did not "catch fire" in the industry. The TRX tire supply will dwindle with time and a lack of demand and/or the prices will skyrocket too.

Many car owners with TRX wheels will upgrade to modern, large diameter wheels to take advantage of modern tire technology in the 16- and 17-inch sizes.

It may be possible to take advantage of wheel interchangeability. The hub splines for the TRX wheels and the 15-inch wheels on many Ferraris of the era may possess identical specifications, so that you may be able replace the TRX wheels on your car with the "normal" equivalent and only suffer the cost of the wheels themselves. Of course, you will still be limited to 15-inch tire choices, which also dwindle each day.

See the attachment for a table with a summary of the Daytona and Boxer tire dilemma.
