The whipcorded window tracks on my doors are pretty frayed and need to be replaced. They're actually binding the windows as they go up & down. Anybody know where to find these?

Thanks. I ordered them from DinoParts -- their illustration looked the most like the ones I'm replacing... we'll see!

Three great resources I =will check out for parts again and again, I'm sure!

If this is the channel insert, then I bought mine from T Rutlands and they sell it by the foot.

Make sure you fully insert it in the chrome channel and chase it with a flat tool or block so that the edges of the window aren't impeded when going up or down.

In extreme circumstance, another trick to facilitate the window movement is to not install the channel insert the full length of the vertical door guide window rails. Cut it off at a quarter of the way from the bottom and you'll find there is less binding and friction, but doesn't interfere with the window operation.

The channel inserts came from Dino parts, and I replaced the driver's side door this weekend. Realtively easy -- except for getting the window seated and bolted back into the traveler. Had to do the right side with the window down, then raise it in order for everything to flex, then the left side lined up.

Amazingly clean inside the door after 33 years. Found one mystery grommet loose in there, didn't fit anything. I'll post a picture later and see if anyone knows what it is.

Sprayed the channel with clear silicone, and the window is working a million times better than before -- so it was ugly and impeding the wondow, too.
