I am in Houston until Friday evening with a group of other Asst. Store Directors. We are going to be looking for a good relatively inexpensive place to eat on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. We ate at Mama's Cafe on Westheimer on Sunday night, Rio Ranch Steakhouse last night and are eating at Pappa's Hamburgers tonight.

The last time I was here were went to Ruchi's on Westheimer and really enjoyed it.

Any suggestions for a group of 8 to eat inexpensively but not cheaply, if you know what I mean.......

    Thanks,

We are staying at the Courtyard on Westheimer about 10 blocks inside the loop. Somewhere within reasonable driving distance from here is preferable.

    What is your favorite???????

Just to clarify. You sure you don't mean 10 blocks inside the Beltway on Westheimer?. The only Courtyard Marriott I know of on Westheimer is in the 9000 block which would put it a few blocks inside the Beltway. Just want to make sure the location is right, cause there's a HUGE difference between 10 blocks inside the loop, and 10 blocks inside the Beltway.

Cafe Japone has cheap Sushi from 4-7 p.m. It's a whole in the wall place on Westheimer a few blocks outside the loop.

Gosh, I did not know they had one of those here..........:>)

We would rather not spend much as they limit the amount they reimburse us to $30 per day and that has to cover three meals. Cheap, huh???? We generally try to limit to to about $15-$20 for the evening meal. Any suggestions in that range? I know P.F. Chang and Houston's are higher than that. Maybe Sam's Boat on Richmond would be a good place for a group of this size that still offers some fun...........

Chuy's on Westheimer/Kirby is a fun place with great Tex Mex. You will probably have to wait a bit but very good margaritas. I don't think they have an entree over $10.

We went to Deni's when we were here for a week in June.. It is a good place with good service and a decent menu. Thanks for the suggestion, I will bring it up to the group.
