I am looking for a source for the clear/green Cavis fuel hose that goes between the carbs on my 246GT E-series. I currently have braided cloth covered rubber hose and recently lost 1/2 a point at a concours because of this.

A quick search on the web shows photos of carbs with 'Cavis 7x12' written on the hose in this position but my connectors are 8mm (and they are original as far as I know). These two pipes are each only 70mm long - see the photo below.

Superformance stocks and sells all the hose you need. It will not have the white 'Cavis' marking on it as the new stuff has a digital print on it that can be wiped off with a rag. I see no reason why you should get a deduction to be missing the Cavis writing because originally that writing appeared every so many inches so theoretically it was very possible to cut the two pieces you need without ever getting any print on the hose.

Superformance don't have 8mm, only 7mm - that is the problem. The deduction was because my hose is braided cloth and not clear.

I used their 7mm. It went on fine after heating it a bit with a heat gun.

Understood the deduction for the braided cloth hose is correct however my point is that I would not get hung up on having the Cavis writing on the hose. I too used 7mm with no problems.

Yes that looks like the sort of hose. Preferably it would have a green tint (it is hard to see if yours is tinted or clear) and would have Cavis printed on it (but that is not so critical).

    Do you have a source?

    I have this.

But you'll have to wait until I go to my storage tomorrow to confirm if it has the print on it etc.

I have about 200 items for vintage 330/365/246 etc. so it's likely correct.

    Thanks

    Ken

That looks like the sort of hose, assuming it is fuel hose and 8mm inside diameter. It should have a green tint (it is hard to see if your is clear or tinted green from the photo) and have 'Cavis' printed at intervals along teh length (but that si not so critical.

    Do you have a source?
