Hi all in New York for a few days, thinking about getting some parts for my 355. Anyone have any good shop to recommend? (with phone numbers pls). thanks in advance. first time in New York and love it already. RO1 from Singapore.
dont know anywhere in nyc, but i feel the cheapest place to get ferrari parts is on the internet check out one of the sponsors www.ferrariparts.com
ahhh, since this is another not simple "yes" or "no" answer question, let me try to be helpful. what parts are you referring to? parts can be bought via your dealership or through mailorder, you dont need to buy it in NYC and drag everything home. if you meant accessories such as clothing, car models and toys. there is a ferrari showroom on 5th.
As i will be their this weekend, could you please tell me at what part of 5th is the shop you refer to. Thanks in advance for your help. Regards Stewart
Exotic Car Model Gallery http://newyork.citysearch.com/map?mode=geo&id=33059888&map_lat=407562&map_lon=-739752&fid=&cslink= 280 Park Ave (and 48th Street)
Actually, the Ferrari showroom does not sell anything. If you want merch like hats, models, toys, umbrellas, etc, try ExotiCar Gallery on Park.
Thanks - I meant car service parts that I'll eventually need (shocks, brakes, used tubi exhaust etc) - just want to see if I could get it cheaper here and save some $$. parts back home can be quite expensive as there is effectively only 1 source... oh, those things I heard from american friends about NY waiters being rude? not true at all so far! Cheers
If you're staying in mid-town, walk to Park. You can drop off the Mrs. at Rock Center or Sacks and then do your shopping undetected!
There is a dealer, Wide World of Cars in Spring Valley for parts, an easy 30-40 minute bus ride out of the city, I might give you a lift if you like if the times work out, if you need a lot of stuff I bet they can deliver it to your hotel (or overnight ship it to your hotel)..high dealer prices though but hey HAVE EVERYTHING since they are just a few minutes from the source ..Ferrari North America whose headquarters are nearby. I suggest you call Rutlands in GA (far away), independent, helpful and they are cheaper (not always cheapest) but have alot in stock and they can overnight it to your hotel. Let me know if I can help. There is another dealer Ferrari of Long Island if you are heading out to the beach. A brand new Dealer in Edison NJ (not in NYC! but about an 45 min. train ride) that is a Penske dealer and supposedly (i hear)quite a show place. Also there are two great places in Greenwich CT ( about a 40 min very EZ train ride) the Ferrari dealer and Miller Motors - both decent parts sources - call first for your needs, of course. For books, literature and memorabila there is a great auto only bookstore in town that has lots of cool stuff, forgot the name but was upstairs on Madison in the high 30's but I think they might have moved, you should ask the hotel concierge about ferrari parts in NYC and report back to us the look on his face.
Hello, I'm name is Dean Romer. I'm the parts manager at Wide World of Cars. My number is 845 425 2600 ext 247. Give me a call or email me if you like. Give me a list of items you need. I can set up a package for you. [email protected] Thanks Dean
It seems unwise to buy parts in anticipation of your needing them sometime in the future. Is this what you are looking to do? The money you save by purchasing in the U.S. will be offset by having your capital invested in parts that are just sitting around and not being used immediately, if ever.
thanks all...I just saw the replies, I've left NY already. I did manage to see the Ferrari shop and the showroom as well, and almost bumped into the england soccer team at the st regis while walking to the disney store. zjpj, yeah that's true, it's just that prices in Singapore can be high and there is (i think) effectively only 1 source..just wanted see if prices in NY were much cheaper to warrant lugging some stuff home. Guess price differentials may not be big enough to justify the hassle. cheers RO1
That was Jacques Vaucher's L'Art et L'Automobile Gallery, but he moved several years ago to East Hampton (Red Horse market shopping center not too far past the airport). Well worth visiting if you are out on the East End. John
