I have some normal scuff marks under my front bumper and some spots that will need to be built up, (glass work) I got one estimate in Austin and they wanted $5100 plus. I though this was way too high... Can anyone refer me to a reasonable body shop business that won't charge me an arm and leg? I had an estimate in CA and they were offering to do the job for $ 1250 with skid pads installed. This is on a F430 front bumper. thanks
Where is the estimate from? I'd recommend Berli's. Berli's is the finest certified auto body and collision repair of BMW, Mercedes Benz, Lexus, Land Rover, Viper, and Prowler in Austin, Texas.
Thanks for the referral. That's where I took it. I just can't see paying $5100 for a bumper re-spray and some glass work. I hear they are great at what they do, but, the price they quoted me is high by most standards. They also said they would have to have the car for two weeks??? Most F car owners are saying it shouldn't be more than $ 1200 dollars Your thoughts??
hello john,i am not close to you but i can help you with your car. i have cars come here from all over texas..$1200.00 or less jano
Hi Jano, Are you saying I would need to ship my car to you? I really don't want to ship my car to have any repairs. I would prefer to have it repaired locally. Thanks, John
I agree - $5,100 seems way too high. bumper respray on my 355 was about $1,200 last time I did it, if memory serves
you drive the car here and fly back.when the car is dun,you fly here and drive back just trying to help out. jano
Alternatively, you can try Jeff's Auto Body on N. Lamar. They've done my other cars with great results. Donny & Joe up there will treat you well. Or Sterling down in Dripping Springs.
Jano has worked on LOTS of local Ferraris. It's not Austin, but he's the real deal. Redid Tillmans 328, a particular 512TR I recall, lots of others. Heck, I think he's worked on most of my cars. Did the wife's Infiniti, my old Jag.
or precision auto body off of 183 near airport blvd. Precision Auto Body of Austin | Supposed to be a superb painter in Taylor Tx. don't know anymore tho...
Precision Auto Body is by far the best value I have found in town. They fixed and painted the front bumper on my 360CS which needed mega fiberglass work b/c of road rash. Came back looking stock with the correct black sheen underneath. They also did the back bumper repaint and diffuser slats, believe the total bill was less than $2.5k. I have since had them paint 3 of my cars (restorations), really good result for reasonable price...I went by there last week and they were working on a 328, 190SL, Aston Virage, Morgan...I know that Ben's workshop uses them I think Moorespeed does as well.
