Will, good luck with getting the 40.

As for parts, I suggest contacting FerrariUK for the best price from Europe...even at MSRP in europe its cheaper then MSRP here. Even if they do not have the said part, they can help you get it and atleast get you some numbers.

    All the best,
    Omar

    Will,

You're the MAN !!!!! Congrats on your F40. Post some pictures when you get this beast. The F40 is still the "king" of Ferraris.

By the way remember what "Fangio" said to his teamate who said his car was too slow only to watch Fangio lap the circuit much faster.

    Fangio said, ".....use less brakes...."

    Keep us posted !!!

    Regards,

Jon P. Kofod (who will one day own an F40)

The best adress for your LM parts is Michelotto in Italy.
They built the LM at that time.

Nothing wrong with a little "fine tuning" to your F40. Nothing like another 50 or 75 horsepower and better brakes and handling. The "stock" F40 is no slouch in any of these departments, but after all. it fun to make the car more of what we like. Myself I like TORQUE and HIGH RPM engines, of which the F40 does both.

William, I built up a street F40 into an LM look-a-like and made all of the body moulds in the process. Real LMs have very different motors. The heads we recast to flow more coolant as was the water pump. The blocks were "O" ringed instead of a normal head gasket to handle the extra pressure. More to it than meets the eye.

I am very interested in the project myself. Personally, the performance of a stock F40 is more than enough except the brake. But I am dying for the look for the F40 LM. It just looks so much more aggressive and purposeful.

I would like to know in order to do the conversion from Stock to LM, exterior only, how many pieces of parts are needed? I notice the rear ring, the front hood, the side skirt and the wheel are different. Am I missing anything? If someone can give me a ball park figure as to how much it costs to do that, it will be great.
