I need to get a set of Michelin TRX 240/55VR415. Coker Tire is out of stock and can not tell me when they will be available. my tires are too old to be safe...like to get new one now.
    Thanks!

    Good day Romano,

Unless things have changed quite dramatically, Michelin did or has not sold their molds. How it was explained to me is that Michelin produces their Vintage tires about every 2 years or so... thus they may not always be in stock given this rather long and and non rigid schedule. The firm's that would know the best as to what is happening would be Michelin themselves (if you could find someone that is part of their vintage tire program) or their "official" vintage tire distributors which I believe are Longstone in the UK, Coker in the US, and one other that I cannot remember now.

Regardless, this does not help the original poster or a few others that recently posted looking for TRX's ...

    Cheers,

    Sam

ok guys, here is likely a stupid question, but i would like to know....

i have the original metric set of wheels for my bbi (wearing the original trx tires with air from modena i might add ;) ).

but instead of replacing those, i bought a set of 365 wheels shod with some monster bf goodrich's, and a set of new image "17 wheels wearing kumho's sticky stuff.

so here is the question: why can you not just buy a set of regular tires that is nearly the same size as the original trx's, and fit them on the original rims? my 365 rims look almost exactly like the original metric ones, so what the big difference that doesnt allow you to do that??

The page below gives an update on the availability of tires from the Michelin Collection department:

    Tyre Catalogue

Click on the "Download" next to the title "Available Gamme COLLECTION":

    Available Gamme COLLECTION - Download

This will download a spreadsheet document with the information.

I have those tires on order since October 2011 (240/55 TRX 415). According to the supplier, they should be delivered by Michelin in June 2013, but no new order can be taken at this time.

Michelin has indicated that they have been moving their production unit for collection tires from France to Serbia.

The reason for the move is that collection tires production was sharing resources with competition tires production in France and of course competition tires had the priority during the racing seasons.

For some reason the TRX tires have been more affected by the move.

If you buy a tyre that has an id of 16.33 inches if you mount it on a 16 in rim all the air will leak out because its not seated

If you buy a 33 in waist jean and your normal waist is 32 in they'll fall down

    Same issue !

Coker said they had a tire that would fit but it's 2 inches lower sidewall...don't want to settle for that yet, but if needed, would that be a problem?

What size tire is that? What did they say are the specs.
There is 240 ,45 profile trxs as well as 280 45s and they fit on original rims.
The 280s are not two inches shorter

If anyone has one 240 55 vr415 they want to sell please email me. I cut the sidewall on one of my tires over the weekend. Coker says they will get them in mid July. Just need a roller to get my car around.

    Thanks
