I grew up 40 miles South of you, then moved to Colorado Springs for college. Less than a year after I graduated, I left. I bounced through Oklahoma, then wound up in Dallas. I've been here 20 years, and I'm not going back. My parents still live in the same house I grew up in, and my brother wound up in Greeley. I fly back a few times a year to ski or get my mountain fix, but I do NOT miss Colorado at ALL. I miss the mountains, and I miss the twisty back roads, but I've otherwise never looked back. Come to Dallas, stay 20 years.
I spent a few weeks there... was ready to leave after day two. Decaying, cold, expensive, unfriendly, pretentious... and very unfriendly to cars. What do you like about SF?
