The Omni is always nice. Might not be anything left at this point though. The Ritz is booked a year in advance.

Lately though, I just find a place on VRBO.

Try to find a place with access to a shuttle, if you can. Moving around is tough there, which is just one of the reasons why the Ritz fills up early.

It will be interesting to see if Hagerty improves how they run the event for 2023. Their first year left a lot to be desired, compared to previous years with the former management...

I rented a car and stayed at a cheap motel in Fernandina Beach. You can park in a lot close enough to the main event for a few bucks.

The Ritz is impossible to get into. Not even a year out. Not with any connection I know. Impossible.

I have attended for a few years and last year I stayed at the (new last year) Courtyard by Marriott. It was very nice with covered parking and decent food and bar. It is also where judges for the concours where staying so there was a shuttle that I jumped on several times without any trouble. This year I am staying at an AirBNB with 3 bedrooms, kitchen, parking etc for $400/night. The way the Ritz works is you need to contact the people at the hotel that are managing rooms for the event and let them know you would like to stay there. If they have rooms, they send you a form with available rooms at prices that start at $2500/ night. I contacted them in December and they had rooms but at that price it just makes no sense.

I live here of y'all need anything.
If your don't mind driving 5min, I'd suggest staying either down town Fernandina or anywhere ocean front in a b&b, hotel or VRBO.

We stayed at the Home 2 Suites the first year it opened. They had availability due to it being so new. And they had a shuttle running directly to the hotel. We had the DB9 that year and left it in their lot for the most part. Last time we went (2022), we were more challenged to find anything...and ended up at the Comfort Inn on the north end of the strip. The Courtyard was across the street and they had a shuttle running...for judges only. Guess who were "honorary judges"? ;-)

IMHO - Hagerty has compromised this event and we will likely not be back for quite some time. Considering Hilton Head in it's place...

Really, weird? Hmmm...I just called for schits and giggles. But, I'm that "new" tier for old fooks that "lived" at Marriott back in the day.

Not going this year but just checked Trip Advisor and surprisingly 7 hotels had rooms available from Thursday to Monday for the weekend. Find a place from there and call the hotel directly. I have stayed at the Hoyt House and the Williams, both old time BnBs, just for being close to the FB Main Street. The Omni does have a shuttle but free parking is available on the Parkway and A1A if you get there early. There is also Ritz parking at their driving range and some fairways but I paid $50 per day in 2020.
