I stayed at the Hilton this year as did the Williams team. I also saw Sir Frank Williams in the lobby. I wanted to get a picture but I thought twice since I was wearing my Suderia Ferrari team shirt!

Nights at the W with the Ferrari team. :)
Race weekend at the Four Points on Sherbrooke with the race fans. Anything from Sherbrooke towards the island will work.

Thanks for the input, guys. I can't find any site selling tickets yet, though. Do you know of any sites selling rickets now?

    Thanks

Much discussed on here. Basically two good options: The first few turns right after s/f or somewhere in the hairpin. Since you're into photography as well: Last time I sat in the hairpin and had basically unobstructed view and the cars are so slow at that point that it feels like shooting fish in a barrel. Another advantage of the hairpin: You're close to the paddock of the support races (Challenge cup) where you can freely meander around.

Well, we found a place. We're staying at the "Omni Mont Royal." Anyone else staying there? Now we just have to wait to get some tickets.

I would recommend Hotel Le St. James, The Omni Mont Royal, the Ritz Carlton, and the W. When I attended this years GP, I actually stayed in Longueil (something to that effect) because it was cheaper, but I went around town to check out where the teams, and Ferrari owners stay. Those are just a few, and they were beautiful, clean, and very accommodating. The W is more modern and has a very "feng shui" feeling. That is where the Ferrari team stayed this year. The St. James, and the Ritz are very "Old World" Montreal, but very upscale and you feel like royalty there. The Omni I would say is a mixture of both new and old.

Anywhere on or around St. Catherines is where the action is (cars, fans, etc.)

    Hope this helps.

Omni's a nice Hotel - I stayed there in my younger days- not sure how the prices are- they used to be fairly reasonable for the quality of the hotel- and its fairly close some of the more enjoyable social activities.
