    I just learned that we may be in Italy in early September and may have an opportunity to attend the F1 race at Monza. My question is, does anyone have any suggestions as to where to stay during the Gran Prix week and what transportation options are there?

    If you do not have booked a specific pre-arranged program ( invitation,transportation VIP Lounge etc ) just stay downtown Milan nearby the Stazione Centrale ( main train station). During the GP week just use the bus connections / shuttles to the Monza Parco Reale ( the biggest closed garden park in Europe). Be prepared to walk a lot anyway but will spare considerable time sitting in a car and looking for parking plots. Optionally you may stay in nearby cities like Bergamo, Arcore ( where Ferrari Team used to stay ) in a radius of 30-40 miles distance and take a rent car. But will have to enjoy Italian driving style, cues, rush hours traffic and so on.
