6 of us are meeting up in Chicago next weekend - staying on North Michigan Avenue. I expect Fox will delay the showing of the race until noon - 2PM on Sunday.

Do any of you Chicago tifosi have a suggestion for where we might go that is fairly close by to have brunch or something light to eat and watch the race?

    TIA -

ESPN Zone, which is roughly Ontario and State, hence close to the mag Mile.

I'm already crinching at the next Fox broadcast. They're worse than bad.

Thanks - looking at their website it appears that they will be featuring the Lenox Tools 300 Nascar Race at noon on Sunday - surprise!

I sent them an email to inquire about whether we could catch the F1 race there or not. It looks like a group could commandeer a booth or something like that with its own TV from which you can select any number of events.

Anyway - it sure is convenient - thanks again.

ESPN Zone got tons of TVs. I'm sure they can switch one to the race. Your real issue will be however not to have somebody spoil the results to you before the end of the show.

Did I mention that I hate Fox coverage?

Seriously! Do NASCAR fans even congregate for the races? I mean, in places with buildings taller than silos? I would call ahead and let them know you have X number of F1 fans coming to watch the race, you're going to be pretty hungry and thirsty, and you'd like to commandier a corner with seats, table and a telly. A sunny Sunday afternoon in summer, they'll probably throw in the chicks for free.

+ 1 - you just have to think back to CBS last year though to realize it could be worse though.

Thanks Chicago for the great weekend. Sitting having breakfast outside at the corner of East Delaware and Van de Rohe we were treated to the tune of a red F430 driving by making beautiful Ferrari music. On Sunday I went by the Coq D'Or at the Drake Hotel around the corner and asked if we could use the back room to watch the Grand Prix. They were very obliging and set it up for us - what a treat - Grand Prix and Guiness/Stella Artois on tap!

    And most importantly - a Ferrari 1-2

Hell, I may have to make the trip back to Chicago several times this season if they can't do as well at Silverstone without me next weekend!
