I'm looking to buy an F40. early non cat, non adjust etc.

Which independant dealer provides the best technical back up?

    i.e engine/gearbox rebuilds.

    I'm budgeting between £160-170k.

    Regards,

    J.P

Can i ask, what do people mean when they say non adjust? With non-cat, does that mean you have to run it on unleaded, and why would you prefer non cat to cat? Just have aways wondered why people choose to go either way with cats? This may be a stupid question so sorry if it is!

Non adjust = non adjustable suspension . i.e dampers

Non-cat - I believe non-cat F40's are easier to boost turbo pressure, and its one less thing to replace.

Just checked auto-trader website and there are quite a few (7 to be exact)for sale....

Just a tad over your budget although whats 10k nowadays...

    Link as below

Have you tried looking in Top Marques? These are the first places i would look for such an item however if you are actually looking for a dealer etc which you want to know is safe and sound, obviously best to do a bit of investigating first....if you need some help, let me know and i can ask a few questions.

Hope you find one as they are wicked cars, seen a few up on the track at Knockhill, mmmmm!!!

    regards,

    Matthew

    JP,

DK Engineering (www.dkeng.com) are a first rate firm and look to have some great F40's at the moment (including an ex Patrick Tambay car). They are not cheap but you can gaurantee they will be first rate.

DK are in St Albans if my memory serves me right.

    Cheers,

    Darren.

Adjust does not refer to dampers. The adjustment is for the driver to control front ride height at low speeds or parking, and it works by operating an electro/hyraulic servo fixed to the front anti roll bar. It is very crude, but effective.

It just save the crunching of the splitter all the time, no big deal.

I'm not really after a minter because I'll be hill climbing with it, and using it for track days etc.

£200k is just that little bit too much for me.

I'm putting aside £10k a year for up keep etc.
