Not being one to modify my 348 I really like the look of aluminum pedals. I have seen them on another 348 and they look great. The stock pedals do look kind of sad. Especially the gas pedal. :(

So I am wondering which are the best set of pedals to buy. Are any power coated in clear or anodized so they do not tarnish quickly? Will any protective finish hold up very long? I do drive with bare feet most of the time so this should not matter much to me but may for others. Any clear coat or anodizing will in time wear thru and the raw aluminum will oxidize some and not retain that shiny finish.

Also the design. I have not shopped for these aluminum pedals but there seems to be a few different designs out there.

Is it best to get the dead pedal for the left foot also?

    So I'm looking for advice.

I did upgrade to the titanium shift knob. I felt that it would hold up and stay shiny and was worth the extra cost over aluminum.

I kind of hate the idea of drilling my stock pedals to put on the aluminum ones but my 348 will probably never be a concours winner. I just like to keep it stock or very close to stock.

    Thanks

Get the Hill pedals from Ricambi... and the dead pedal.
You must be able to operate a drill tho...

I especially liked them because you can position them where you want them and drill the holes. I was able to space my pedals apart a bit more which made it easier for me to only push 1 pedal at a time! And I shifted all the pedals more to the left so they're a tad closer to being actually centered to the seat!

Still not sure if your post is a joke or not..... assuming it's not, are you quite seriously considering putting drilled and "rough-ish" metal pedals on when you state "I do drive with bare feet most of the time..."? I'm really trying to figure this one out. Is it even legal to drive without shoes? I don't think it is here.

I vote for no drilled pedals. Also, there is a reason the accelerator pedal is smooth and not covered with rubber from the factory (along with the smooth metal plate next to the accelerator).

Is it best to get the dead pedal also? Yes, if it's what YOU want. No, if it's not what YOU want. You should not be looking for acceptance from anyone else. My advice.

Driving in WI is legal with bare feet. I have aluminum pedals in my 88 Mera. I have no concern about aluminum pedals and how ribbed they are. I am only interested in the cosmetic look of these pedals.

If you are concerned about originality try to find some challenge pedals. Otherwise Hill Engineering. Can't say enough about the quality of anything I've bought directly from him or through Ricambi.

The Hills pedals also helped my heel-toe driving. Get them and get them from Daniel.

My buddy John makes some nice ones. Not sure if anyone on Fchat has purchased them yet.

I have no use for them personally, since the 355 has them stock. I have seen his up close and the attention to detail is amazing. He includes hardware and instructions.

Can't lose with Ricambi/Hill either, I have used a number of Hill products, and they are all outstanding. :)
