For an authentic Italian trattoria in Ft. Lauderdale Osteria Agua e Farina cannot be topped. Unpretentious, neighborhood vibe, decent wine list, real Italian, somewhat rustic cuisine. It's in the original Valentino location in a nondescript strip mall on the west side of South Federal, just north of Davie Blvd.
Shooters Waterfront... Eat outside on the water, great food and view! S3 - Sun, Sand, Surf... right off the beach and the fire pits are great! One Door East - amazing food and service Canyon - try the Prickly Pear Margarita Kaluz... also great and on the water Blue Moon Fish Company... on the water. Great food and service Louie Bossi... great atmosphere and fun place. Great food and the backyard is awesome! Boatyard... on the water and Thursday night is ladies night Lobster Bar on Las Olas Worst place in Fort Lauderdale... Blue Martini... terrible food and even worse service!

2 GREAT places in North Miami. I just went to them and DEFINITELY worth the extra few minutes drive from Ft. Lauderdale. I think Michael Mina's Bourbon in N. Miami is one of the best steak houses I've been to. Amara at Paraiso to was AMAZING. https://amaraatparaiso.com/ https://www.michaelmina.net/restaurants/miami-st-pete/bourbon-miami/
Bump. Was just in Fort Lauderdale last week and went to Casa D'Angelo for Italian which was phenomenal. I will be back in a couple of weeks. Looking for recommendations to good seafood spot in Fort Lauderdale Beach area.
A few of my favorites: Casual: - Luigi's Coal Oven Pizza - on Las Olas - Rocco's Taco's - on Las Olas - Anthony's Runway 84 - on State Rd 84 More Formal (as formal as South FL gets): - Grille 66 - off 17th Street - Wild Sea Oyster Bar & Grille - on Las Olas - Burlock Coast at the Ritz Carlton - on A1A
Thank you for these great suggestions. I am looking for more casual possibly on the intercoastal or with a water view to drink some beers and eat seafood. Live music a plus.

I'll be going back to Ft. Lauderdale around Cavallino weekend. My wife has expressed a desire for good Asian or Asian fusion food, preferably not tourist-oriented (sorry). Any suggestions?
