Which bands do you feel sound better live than on their studio recorded albums?

    I'll normally choose to listen to the studio recorded album over a live album because I want to hear the song the way the band originally wanted it to sound. For me, the concerts I have considered to be the better ones I have seen are when bands come very close to being able to duplicate, as closely as possible, their studio recordings. Two bands that stand out for me are Styx and Yes.

    Trying to think of a band where I enjoy their live recordings more than their studio recordings - personally, I come up with none, at least right now.

    What bands do you prefer to hear live over their studio recordings, or do you just generally prefer live music over studio recordings?

    When I saw The Eagles in '94 they sounded darn impressive live.

    I’ve seen Prodigy live and they’re definitely best that way. Their raw power and energy is something else.
