My buddy is getting married in April. His girl want to go to the Caribbean (sp?) for the honeymoon. Where should they go? They want a good hotel and a casino and clear water. (He would like a nude or topless beach!!!)

Where do you guys recommend? He is a ritz-carlton kind of guy so hotel / resorts like that level is what they are looking for.

Trunk Bay, St. John, USVI. It's where I just got married and honeymooned last month. It's a US territory so you get US laws and protections, but it's still very Caribbean in feel and look. Here's an image I took while down there. PM me if you want to know more.

No casino's but most celebrities stay at Caneel Bay resort there. The other nice hotel is the Weston.

Casino and Ritz-Carlton type of accomodation rarely are together in the Carribean. I have stayed at lots of great places in the Carribean with top notch accomodation, great beaches, great food, but no casino. If he can forego the casino option, I could suggest 4 or 5 places that are just amazing.

The Caribbean for a honeymoon? Have them skip the nonsense and just go to Watts. It's a short drive from LAX, cheap hotels, beggars, street scum, dope dealers, human sized insects, theives, all just like the Caribbean. She won't miss a thing.

Seriously though. There's some beautiful places in the Caribbean, but the people are scum bags. All looking for a buck. If you don't give it, they will try to take it. Every local I started a conversation with down there, I felt like I was getting involved in a game of "Three Card Monte". Screw that place. Go to the South Pacific. More beautiful, more culture.

Just what you need on a honeymoon, everybody playing "follow the lady" from the casino to the nude beach and back.

Little Dix Bay on Virgin Gorda in teh BVIs is a great up-scale Caribbean resort. www.littledixbay.com . Or better yet ,he can rent a house and wedding package on Richard Branson's Necker Island. www.necker.com . They are both great resorts in ideal locations to explore other islands of the BVIs with a boat... Young Island of teh coast of St. Vincent is also a wonderful resort that has up-scale houses, wedding packages and sailing excursions. www.youngisland.com

St. Johns is beautiful but quiet.......... nude sunning will be an issue

Necker is awesome (if you rent it out) but no casino. No prob. with going nude anywhere.

Antigua has a couple of nice resorts and casinos in town. They could look at a beach suite at Carlisle Bay http://www.lhw.com/property.aspx?propertyid=523&sessionid=0

But, it is hard to beat the Bahamas for crystal clear water on the out islands and Atlantis is hard to beat as a casino.

So, I'd recommend a suite at the Ocean Club with privileges to Atlantis.........

Follow it up with a Helo or boat charter to an out island for a very private beach.

I went to St. Lucia in the West Indies for my honeymoon. We stayed at the Sandals Golf Resort. No casino :( but the accomodations were pretty good...it is DEFINITELY worth the money to upgrade the room as the hotel is just a hotel and a little commercial...we stayed in a villa on a bluff overlooking the carribean sea and had our own private plunge pool...we will be going back as soon as the kid is old enough to stay with grandma and grandpa for more than a few hours at a time.

If they want clear water where the fish swim inbetween your legs and you can see them, and the beach is white as snow. And if they want partial nude, or full nude, plus some action for night life I can only recommend one place.

Martinque(sp?) there are two sides to this island, the one I went on was the french one. Out of all my trips this was one to remember.

Food is costly, but the main beach (very exclusive) with one hotel, is nude but optional. The age group is 20-40 something. I did not have a digi camera back then, so my pics are on film, but the views are right out of the postcards.

We did St.Thomas, and Martinique 5 days each. it was unbelievable.

    just my ,2cents.

Is cost an issue? Ask zjpj he seems to have a pretty good knowledge about the more private beaches in the Carribbean where you are not going to get bothered every 5 min.

A good place that I've been is Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt. The water is completely clear, and the beaches are nice. We stayed in a very nice Mariott right on the beach for 50$ a night but those were Egyptian rates, it is more expensive for non-Egyptians. Incredible diving their as well, some of the best in the world.

If you're looking for privacy and cost is not an issue, there's this place (owned by a good friend's older brother). Although there are no private beaches in barbados, there are large boulders on either side of this bay effectively limiting access. I haven't had the chance to stay there yet, but my sister-in-law was there and she said it was absolutely incredible.
