I am a wholesaler and drive hundreds of different cars each year and so far my best "chick magnet" stories involve a 04 Maserati Coupe and a 03 745LI.

Almost all girls are not interested in extravagant exotic sports cars and think that the guy is compensating for something... really the best cars to attract girls is either (depending on the girl) a nice BMW or a nice truck.

My g/friend couldn't care less about either my 996 or my 348... right up until she needs a ride to go meet her friends for dinner and drinks... then it's "bring the red one"

I don't think cars are great magnets to women, I think other guys *think* they are though.

Mostly it's guys that ask me about them, I think it's a guy thing, chicks don't really dig them that much.

It's OK by me, last thing I want is her wanting to drive it to work.

The only chicks I would want to attract are the ones attracted to the same cars as me. Chicks like Vicki Butler Henderson, for example. I'm sure Vicki would just love a nice Ferrari or even an Evo. She knows her cars.

It's a good bet that these chicks will also be pretty incredible drivers (Vicki certainly is), another quality I'm attracted to.

Yeah, yeah, I know it's asking the near-impossible, but a man can dream, right? ;)

A limo with a large hot tub, filled with strawberry bubble bath, 2 glasses of champagne, and lots of scented candles, while playing a Josh Groban CD... that will get the girls interested !!

Although you would have to be a big *** to set up something like that....I bet it would work.

I would have to say my '99 Diablo Roadster is a people magnet, men, women, and children. I have never seen anything like it.

    1) They are ridiculously anachronistic: An ultra performance "people's car", that wants to kill you.

    2) They are ridiculously overpriced for cars: ~25-30% over costs, in a 5% margin business.

    3) They are still selling like proverbial hotcakes.

What other possible explanation can there be but the female of the species finds them desirable as some sort of mating display?

I especially enjoyed the Count Volpi quote on this subject in CDM's post at: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=72735

"Real women aren’t picked up anymore with cars, or planes or yachts for that matter. It is culturally obsolete, and the intrinsic quality of the eventual ‘pick-up’ is inversely proportional to the price of the vehicle."

The best car I've ever seen was my little bro's bright blue '89 Jeep Wrangler in the summer with the no doors and no top. I've never seen anyone pick up more women in any car before or since (unless they were a movie star).

Only a guy who drives a sh!tbox would say something like that...

According to your 'proportion' theory, if you drive a Rusty 1981 VW rabbit, you should be able to score with Cindy Crawford...?

Thank you for the most amusing post of the day--if not the year. If only you knew what it is that you don't know, you'd be able to enjoy the joke along with the rest of us.

Proposterous! I am in follow of your sarcasm, and as I digress, will lead me to say "you are welcome" in regards to your pitiful post.

Let me add, that it is I, who at the best and worst of times, have the inate wit and humour, garnering myself due respect amongst our bretheren at Fchat.

You, on the other hand, have been a victim of sacrasm yourself, and your hasty last return shows that you did fall unknowingly to it!

    :)

Cheer up! Its supposed to be fun !!

I had an '86 CJ7, then a '91 vette, then I cared for a friends 355 for a half a year and I got nothing (I was in my mid to late twenties through all that). Little to no action at all.

Then I went overseas in 2000 for 8 months and sold off all my cars. When I got back I found a beat up '89 K car. I got it for free and put an old AOOGA horn on it. No kidding, the girls came running when I had that car. Ended up married a year later. It got vandalized in 2003 on Haloween night and I had to junk it. We would drive down the highway and hit anything that wasn't alive with that car. Never had more fun in my life.

    For what it's worth.

Women constantly come up to me saying how "cute" this car is and many want a ride. But once, some girls did flash me their boobs while I was driving the Ferrari.

    I was only being sarcastic.

I have never heard of Mr. Count Volpi, and am sorry to make a funny comment in that manner.

I would like to see his collection. Have you any pictures ?

If you're looking for a car to attract women...you have a much bigger problem than what kind of car to buy.

Actually, Volpi said the "intrinsic quality," not extrinsic qualities. You will attract much better LOOKING women with material things, but they are not BETTER women. That's what Volpi was saying.

Yup, BMW 3 coupe was the Ultimate Scoring Machine. Not even my favorite car, but, well...

It's complicated. Women like guys who are successful, self-assured, and have access to the right social circles. So, I don't think women really have the horsepower figures memorized for the last 10 Ferrari models, but they appreciate the social aspects that are secondary to most guys.

Lol. Ugh, just got a noseful of Sierra Nevada Pale.

Well, maybe. Women definitely find it more interesting that I own a Ferrari. When I had my Porsche, it really might as well have been an Aztek or a Rambler. There's a kind of irrational, fantasist aspect to it all. Sure, a Honda Odyssey is more sensible, but a Ferrari is kind of naughty. And naughty isn't so bad... ;)

Woman's like Bugs. A friend of mine have one, and it's still a chick-magnet ... In Hungary, the easiest way to get a good-looking girl next to you is having a BMW (doesn't matter if its old, or crappy) ...
