I've owned my 2010 Audi S5 Cabriolet for over two years and ~ 40k miles and have a hankering for a new daily driver. Here are my thoughts: 1) order a 2013 Audi RS5; 2) order a 2013 Mercedes C63 AMG w/performance package; or 3) find a 2009 or 2010 CPO Mercedes CL63 AMG. I can get any of the three for around $80k. Which would make the best daily driver?

The Cl would be my choice. IMHO it's way more upscale then the other 2. It would however be used I'm not sure if that's bothersome to you or not. Having spent a alot of time with a CL600, any CL model would be my choice as the superior daily driver.

I would buy the R8 v10. Yhe most impresive car I have ever driven. I do not own one yet but I will. I own alot of cars and the R8 as a daily driver would be awesome. Even the V8 is great,

GOOD LUCK whatever you buy :)

I would look at a cts-v coupe. I bought one in july and I have to say I realy like it. I have had M3s ,M5s 5 amgs including E55 and I would not trade my V. The fit and finish was way better than I thought. Its fast and the magnetic ride is the best and you can get one for $65000

C63 out of the options presented. If I were to be spending my own money, I'd go with a CTS-V wagon.

Of your choices, I would take the RS5. In that price range, there are a lot of other used cars that I'd be looking at though.

That's where I'm leaning as I love the quality fit/finish of my current S5.

I actually test drove a CTS-V and it is a nice car and very fast car. But, I just don't like the angular shape.

The CL63, those other cars should not even be mentioned in the same sentence. I would have bought one instead of the S Class, but I need room for 3 in the back seat. What a frigging amazing car!!!!. I am not easily impressed by anything that comes from ANY factory.

The CL63 has a pretty good size backseat;large enough for my needs and larger than my current S5.

If you are looking at the Audi and Merc, no thought of the M3?

Maybe? I would like to see what the new 2013 M3 looks like with its twin-turbo V-6.

    Rs5 , hands down, as a DD.

The MB will be fun at first, then wear you out being a DD.

I'm and Audi guy, sold my Rs6 and got into a C63, added exhaust, then software ... loved it!

    Now I'm back in an Audi S6 ( v10 ) wouldn't go back.

Bottom line though, is what do YOU want?

It's amazing how fast CL63 AMGs depreciate. I have found a one owner loaded 2010 model with 42k miles, a 4 year/50k mile CPO warranty that had an MSRP of over $140k, for $62k. How much lower can they go?

I have seen AMG CL's from the 2003-2005 era in the mid to upper $20K range. So, if history has anything to say, they can drop a lot more.

That's because you do not want to own one after the warranty expires. I'm keeping my search to low mileage CPO cars with at least 4 years/ 50k miles in warranty left.

I'd say 62K with CPO is a good buy. A lot of car for that money.
