Which color is my car?

    I´ll have to get my front and rear bumper resprayed by a local shop. Even if it´s a very good shop, I´d like to give the guy as many informations about the original Ferrari-color as possibe.

    Well, it´s yellow but there seem to be two different kind of yellow:

    Modena Yellow (Giallo Modena)

    and

    Yellow (Giallo)

    I remember coming across two different yellows and one was the darker one. That´s actually the one I´m looking for. Is that the "Giallo Modena"? Any hints on paint-manufacturer and codes would be useful, too.

    I had hoped for that, too, but the engine lid is an aftermarket carbon-fibre one, so no sticker on it... :)

    The paint shop will have to computer match the paint.

    It seems that there was only one Giallo, Glasurit paint code 102. But this code was sometimes called Giallo Modena. Otherwise, there was a number of different "Giallo Modena-s" (see the attached file).

    Aaaah, finally getting closer. So it seems that it is GIALLO MODENA Code 430, which equals to Glasurit 102 (or 4305) and I just found a card from PPG, 84028 there.

    You'll have to contact Ferrari for a build sheet on your car to get the original yellow paint code.

    Regarding Ferrari is a fairly big company, does it make sence to mail them through their website or does anyone on FC know a contact to talk to directly?

    An authorized Ferrari dealership can obtain the build sheet for you.

    But Ferrari switched from Glasurit to PPG in May, 1997. As your car is a MY 1998, your PPG color code selection is correct.

    Haha, didn´t know about the MadMax-Theme, great. Actually all the stickers and decals are off now on the way to bring it back to it´s earlier livery.
    Unfortunately I don´t have more pictures yet except the one where Milka Duno finished 1st at Road Atlanta in 2000 with my car. I contacted her last week and she replied very quickly and promised me to dig out some old stuff/pictures/papers from the times during the Challenge race. Very kind person.
    Surely Robb has also some treasures hidden in his archive, haven´t you?
    Happy that I have the PPG reference now, thanks guys.
