Maybe some of you guys can help me out. I am interested in going to the concourse in august. Problem is there are two. One is the Concorso Italiano on August 15th. The other is the Pebble Beach Concrose on August 17th.

Now being a car enthusiast I would love to go to both but they have a priced tag of 150, and 175. That’s a bit much to look at cars for two days. Not including hotel stay, gas, food, two tickets for me and the woman, etc. So I will only be going to one.

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the two, or which is “better”. I have been away at school for the last several years and have not had the opportunity to go to either so I don’t know.

Pebble Beach is the pinnacle of the car world. Its the Super Bowl, The Indy 500 and the Lower Oakland Roller Derby Finals rolled up into one.

if you can only go to one, go to Pebble.

The CI is a nice show, but it allows in "spectator" cars. You pay your fee, you drive in with your Italian car and yer part of the show. Impressive to see, but the cars dont hold a candle to the quality of PB.

The Concours d'Ignorace will be the worst of the automotive world. It will be truly awful, just you wait and see. :D

Pebble Beach on Sunday. Well organized, and done first class. Your wife will like it as well. You will see the best of the best. Quality not quanity. Concorso is a circus with too many cars and booths with stuff to buy.

We can only speculate on what CI will be as the event has moved and the owner has added extra bells and airplane parts. I don't think anyone knows what the show will be like, could be fantastic, but based on the unknown I would say Pebble Beach. It is the top show of it's kind in the world. Quail is good, but sold out.

If you want the best of both go to downtown Carmel at 11AM on Thursday and many of the Pebble beach cars will be parked there while the owners have lunch during the Pebble Beach tour, you can see them up close and there is no charge. then go to CI on Friday.
