so far the vote shows similar results as when the question is asked in other forums.
the interesting thing is that the F40 is the top of the heap, by at least 50% more than the others.
and at the same time, it is still the least costly one according to the latest auction averages.

and you wonder why i started that other thread ;)

The value of the F40 has to do with production numbers not popularity, and because of the relatively prolific production of F40s, far more transactions of them occur per year which helps define their market quite well, that's the main reason they are neither undervalued nor overpriced.

You really have to be a good driver to manage the F40. No ABS. Huge turbo lag. Separates the men from the boys.

its kind of dr jekyll/mr hyde.
you can poodle around town posing all you like, and its basically as easy to drive as a 328.
but if you prod the accelerator and get that boost up and then unleashed, you better be in a straight line or agile enough to catch it. preferably on dry tarmac.
if you step into the loud pedal progressively in a straight line, there is normally aspirated acceleration initially, and then all of a sudden the boost hits and it reminds you of that moment in star trek when they engage warp drive - you suddenly get thrust back and everything starts to blur, and you better be ready to change up a gear.

the only problem with that portion is if you have to then slow down right after, and you usually dont want to.....and then you get a ticket.

We had a Ferrari Club member leading the pack over Vail Pass in an F40. He said a semi pulled out in front of him. He locked up the brakes. Flat spotted all four tires and had to be trailered back to Denver. Other cars collided because no one could see because of the tire smoke. Thankfully nobody was hurt.

I drove one for a few laps on track, like a go kart, raw, loud...I was shaking when I got out.

I'll take a black F50 please I love 90s styling. And the sound. And it doesn't appear to be too difficult to work on either.
