Greetings! I'm trying to replace my injectors on my '84 Mondial QV (US version). In preparation, I watched the videos online, read guides online, purchased injectors (and an injector removal tool), and bought the rubber seals that are supposed to fit my car. I've just pulled my first injector, and the rubber seal is different from what I've seen online and what I've ordered. Please see the attached photo.

The only options I'm seeing online for rubber seals for any of the 308/328/Mondial V8s are the little rubber donuts (part 113570) and the "injector rubber" (114661).

Posting in this forum (rather than the Mondial-specific forum) because I'm wondering if my injector setup is somehow from something other than a US-spec Mondial QV.

One more note -- these are kept in place in the manifold with a snap ring (circlip). Can someone steer me to the proper part number for replacement seals -- or help me understand why my car is different from the other QVs I see online?

    Thank you!
    --Shane in Seattle

The entire injector holder came out. Partially because you removed the snap ring. If you (relative to the photograph orientation) push the metal injector upwards out of the holder you will find it has the fat little O ring and not the big barrel shaped seal. You will need a set of the fat little o rings and the o ring that seals the holder in the manifold.

Ah-ha! Thank you. It all makes sense now. New o-rings ordered.
I temporarily reinstalled the whole assembly, and then pulled out the injector. Alas, all the crud that was on the injector in the photo above was squeegeed off when I pulled it out, so now that crud is just sitting in the intake manifold. :) I think I may as well pull each assembly for cleaning and a new o-ring as well as pulling each injector and its o-ring.

Do you know which cars got my arrangement, and which ones got the metal screw-in holders? Videos and photos of Mondial QVs online (for example:

seem to all show the screw-in arrangement, not this snap-ring mechanism. Is one newer than the other, or is one European vs US, or ???

    Thank you!

The "screw-in" style is the older design. If you do a search on 113309, you should get a lot of prior threads (shame that Geert Jan's far "better" 113309 doesn't seem to be available anymore).

Posting here after looking through other threads -- the larger o-ring, the one that goes around the injector holder, is part number 101031, for which my local dealer wants $17 each.

    Compiled from other threads:
--the o-ring at McMaster-Carr that matches the specs of Ferrari 101031 is part # 9464K28, which is currently $10.48 plus shipping...for fifty of them. :) Roughly 1% the price of the dealer.
--the appropriate material for this application (around gas) is viton, aka fluorocarbon, aka FKM
--McMaster's dimensions show that this is 3/32nds (.103 inch) with an inside diameter of 11/16ths (.674 inch) -- in mm, this is 2.616mm thick and ID of 17.1196.
--in Italy's UNI (Italian organization for standardization) chart ( https://www.thisoldtractor.com/o-rings_uni.html), these dimensions precisely match size OR 3068. I had hoped that putting this # into Google would magically pop up an eBay seller eager to pop 8 of these into an envelope for me -- alas, a quick search only brought up wholesalers around the world and an Italian ebay seller.

So Ferrari part # 101031 matches McMaster-Carr part #9464K28, which matches Italian UNI # OR 3068.

The fat little O ring, whatever number is a very common injector O ring fitting almost every car that used CIS and can be bought cheaply at anyone selling German car parts.

Yep, thanks. Ordered those yesterday. I think I may even have a set of 4 of those in my garage, but 1) I need twice that many and 2) they'd be 25 years old by now. My brother, girlfriend, and several other friends owned used Rabbits and Golfs in high school & college, so those O-rings and I have crossed paths several times in the past.

I'd hoped to get this buttoned up over winter break, but that's clearly not going to happen. Good thing it's not my daily driver. :) Thank you for the help!
