I would like to know which is better, Earl Schieb or Maaco :)
I would have to say Maaco, when I was 18 years old Earl painted a car for me..................they painted everything including the tires.........LOL
When I was in my late 20's-30's I would buy cheap 65-66 Mustangs($500) , do all of the body work , then take it to Earl Schieb for a $99 paint job just before selling for $3k or so, they really turned out pretty well, considering how cheap it is. It made the cars much easier to sell. (They would paint the wheels unless you tell them not to.)
i painted for maaco for awhile. i was impressed with the quality of their paint. i'd say got to the shop and see what kind of job they're doing.
95 percent of the paint job is preperation. Those guys shoot a lot of cars and the guy holding the spray gun usually does a pretty good job at those places. I've found the prep work to be very poor. If you know a little about what your doing and do a lot of it yourself you may come out with a decent paint job. Otherwise, only if you are selling it for $3k next week.
