    Hello,

I know to many of you 308s are like pigeons, but I'd really like to have a closer look at several examples as I'm thinking of getting one. There are two events coming up, and I'd like a recommendation as to which might be the most Ferrari-centric. There is Mogulaire Concours d’Elegance in Livermore on July 23, and The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, on August 19. I might be able to get to both, but if you know from past experience that either aren't worth the time it would be nice to know.

    Thank you,

    Rick

If you're looking to get close looks at 308s, then I'm going to suggest you try option C: Concorso Italiano, on 8/19: http://www.concorso.com/

Quail is a pretty "high end" event, and I don't think you'll be finding many 308s there. (If you're in the market for a P4/5, however, well, you're out of luck, since Jim ain't sellin' his, but if he's bringing it to Pebble this year, you'll see it at Quail!)

For me, Concorso's a nice mix of high-end cars (as compared to Camry's and Priuses, not other exotics!) and down-to-earth people, real enthusiasts, so you'll see Dinos and F50s (Concorso's hosting an F50 reunion this year... I'm gonna need a bib...) and everything in between there. Hell, there'll even be an F355 Spider with a blue monkey hanging from the rear-view mirror there, if you look hard enough to find it! ;)

Hope you'll join us there, and best of luck on your 308 search!

Agreed, if you are interested in comparing the various 3x8's, Concorso is the best choice by far.

If the Quail even has a 308, there will only be one. If your mission is to see 308s and talk to their owners, Concorso is your best option.

    +1 Concorso!

I attended one of Mogulaire's events little more than a year ago with my car. Not impressed.

Last year I knew the time had come for me to find a Ferrari, so I went to the concorso like you go to a showroom to pick the model! :)

I came back amazed by the Testarossa, and here I am a year later.

    +1 for concorso.

The best show room in the world...

Thank you very much for the replies; Concorso it will be! I may dash out to see the Mogulaire Concours d’Elegance event in Livermore, since I'll be at work there on that day anyway. Saturdays are usually very slow, so I could probably get away with just dashing out at lunch to see who brought what. If Quail is indeed so high end, I would feel very awkward anyway-I'm a clock-puncher, not a country clubber.

Thank you all once again for the suggestions!

    Rick
