Alright I'm trying to decide on which laptop to get so I'd like some suggestions. I'm looking for something relatively lightweight and portable but doesn't break the band so I've narrowed it down to these two what do you think? HP Dv2000t OS Windows vista home premium pentium dual core t2060(1.6ghz/1mb L2) 1GB DDR2 (2 dimm) 80gig Sata 5400rpm 802.11 b/g 6cell lithium battery 14.1" brightview widescreen 13.51"X9.33"X1-1.54" 5.41lbs $963.41 (inc tax+shipping with student discount) Dell e1405 OS Windows Vista home premium pentium dial core t2060(1.6ghz/1mb L2) 1GB DDR2 (SDRAM@533mhz) 80Gig sata dell 1500 wireless-N 6 cell lithium 14.1" wxga w/trulife 12.99"X9.56"X1.52" 5.30lbs $881.27 (inc tax+shipping with student discount) Other things to consider -I do have a wireless N router -the thinness of the HP is closer to 1" -reliability of dell vs. HP? -customer service of Dell vs. HP? -12cell battery for hp=80$ -9cell battery for dell=60$ -(i think the HP looks better lol) So basically is the extra 80$ and not utalizing the wireless N worth the looks, and better customer support and reliability versus the dell?
Love my HP Pavilion. I like it much better than my wife's Dell. Had to replace the defective power cord...$30
They´re equal in almost all the things but my opinion of DELL is that i have a desktop computer dell and i works very GOOD..but the bad point is that the hp is very thinnest.
I had an HP for a couple of days a few weeks back. Cost was $1299, 2g ram, Core 2 Due 5500, 160 gb hd. I took it back and bought a ThinkPad. Was a little more, but worth it. Check around and read up on Dell customer service. NOT good. RMX
