Hey guys, started doing some research and I'm trying to figure out which Launch x431 to buy for my '06 f430. Theres like a 100 different sub-models of the X431. I want to be able to do the basics like checking clutch life, adjust PIS, etc, and would like to get recommendations on exact sub-model is working for you. The other question I haven't been able to get a straight answer on is after the 2 years of free updates is over and I don't want to pay a yearly fee. Will these features still work?

Yeah, I noticed this too and it made my head hurt, so I gave up.

Flash (Dominick) told me to order the Autel MaxiAP AP200 as a inexpensive option

    That is for reading only

The thinkdiag 2 is a great inexpensive option for the Ferrari but stops working unless you renew

Any launch product including the thinkdiag2 use the same software

I use the Launch Pro S Mini. My two year free updates expired a couple years ago and everything still functions as it should.

Correct tablet based launch products just don't get updated after subscription expires..not the launch thinkdiag2..it stops completely..but the entry price is much lower and you get the same functionality for the f430

Just a major note if you use the thinkdiag 2 on a iPhone it doesn't give you the most updated software need to use it on an Android

If you didn't care for my Thinkdiag2 recommendation - here is a tablet version of the launch ( 70 dollars off today)
But consider there is at least 650 dollar difference between the two ( thinkdiag2 & launch below) and software is exactly the same on a android device -- not sure which is the better buy for you

Launch X431 Mini Pros. About $700 with 2 year free updates. Then no more updates but still works with the last updated software. You can buy a software for another 2 years for around $500.

    Thanks all.
Sounds like Thinkdiag2is around $150 and then $90/year. Launch tablet can be had for around $500 and no more yearly fees, so in long term Launch tablet is the better buy.

This is what I bought. I haven’t paid for the update, but it still works like it should on my 2009 F430.
