    funny a lot of women I have met go gaga over the 246 its there dream car, the 308 does nothing for them must be its curves and petite size of the car, 246 is definately more classic looking

    They fawn over Miatas, Minis and VW Beatles too.

    Not that there's anything wrong with women admiring your car but if it were up to women to determine the market all Ferraris would be in junkyards rotting away.

    opinions are funny things. i thought the 308 would win this contest in a landslide, but it seems just the opposite. for me i just cant see the appeal in the dino. nice looking car, but i cant call it beautiful. but thats great dino guys like their cars, 308 guys the same and the world keeps turning.

    I dont own a 246 but did own a 328, 246 was never on my list but the 246 lines have aged well, the 308/328 look dated now I also got sick of the Magnum comments in my 328, they are similar to yesterdays Dinos in the price spectrum one of the cheapest Ferraris you can buy today so there conditions as a whole are not good, 246s are more collectors cars and kept well, 308/328s are still driven alot many are clapped out and rough

    Ha ha, may I suggest Rislone Engine Rebuild in a Can? You can find it at Pep Boysfor about $10 it will help seal up the motor so you don't have so much embarrassing smoke when the motor is running thus protecting the rear bumper and back of the car from soot staining the paint :)

    Can anybody provide an image of the Photoshop trick of blending a 246 and 308 into one new design?
    Is this even possible in Photoshop?


    Kind of like when Conan O'Brian shows those wacky pics of the offspring of 2 celebrities!!

    really depends on nostalgia and one owns taste IMHO...that being said there is nothing sexier than freshly detailed 328 GTS-NON ABS models that is-those damn convex rims make me wanna puke :) (ok maybe a 288GTO or F40)!

    my first ferrari was a 308. i would love to have it back (31883 if anyone knows its where-abouts).

    i love the 246 so much more. the 308 was quicker and better built, but the lines of the 246 are far better.

    i am 34 years old. i wasn't even alive when most of the 246's were built. i love the 308's and most of my generation relates to magnum pi. however, if any of my generation REALLY gets into ferrari's, the 308 will go by the way side, even if not for the 246.

    I do believe it's a generational thing that may sway one more than the other. But, here's the sad part. Somewhere today is a kid playing with his Xbox who thinks the Nissan GT-R is stunning compared to either. How very, very sad.

    guess it depends on your tastes; they're all Dinos technically. But do you like 60s or 80s body design.... depends. I agree w/generational issue as a few others have suggested. Both designs are classic.

    The 246 Dino has that classic sports car look.... gorgeous line and body... however, nothing of the shape spells a supercar. by itself doesn't look FAST!!!... very slow performance, negative for being compact size...

    The 308 has that modern supercar look... wedge, aerodynamic, pop-up light... to me, nothing of the shape and body of the 308 reminds me of a classic era... great fun driving... the only down side is that there are too many of them around....

    UMMMMM - neither one was ever supposed to be a "supercar".

    The target competitor was the Porsche 911S for the Dino. I suppose you could say the 3x8 targeted the Porsche 930 Turbo - although by that time there were Maserati and Lambo small mid-engine competitors as well; which, BTW, the 3x8 soundly trounced.

    Each Fcar was outdone in performance by Porsche, but made up the difference with Ferrari style.

    The 308 invented a market niche for real world exotics. It was the first Ferrari (actually the first exotic car) you could drive every day without your own mechanic on call. I hate the term "supercar", because no one can explain what it means other than dorm room poster material, but I think if you could time travel back to 1978 or so and take a survey you'd probably find the 308, Boxer, Countach and Esprit Turbo on the list: rare, famous marques, hand built, fast by the standards of the day, distinctive, etc.

    To Pat's comment, the 308 definitely had the supercar look -- low wedge, grilles and vents, raked windscreen, etc. It was extreme for its day, and frankly they still look extreme compared to normal cars. Park a 1985 308 GTS next to a 2008 Porsche Boxster/Cayman and the 308 is still undeniably exotic.

    The Dino is a beautiful car, but it wasn't marketed as a Ferrari. That doesn't diminish its design excellence, but it was never meant to do battle against the Miura, Countach, Boxer, etc. From an exotic/sports car history perspective, the 308 was the most important development of the last 40 years. I think now that we can all afford them, it's hard to imagine the "supercar" lustre they had back when 308s were at or near the top of the automotive heap in the United States.

    FWIW, I don't think Lambo had a viable 308-class competitor till the Gallardo. (The Jalpa was a failure.)

    I prefer :

    1) DINO 246 - not in red
    2) ( 288 GTO )
    3) 328 GTS - in red

    So 246 it's better not in Red colour
    and 328gts is better in RED.
