Can anyone recommend a model of NGK spark plugs to fit to my 1985 308QV. It currently has Champion spark plugs fitted, runs OK with those, but wish to try NGK's. My local supplier recommends BP8EVX, any thoughts?

I run BP5ES plugs in my '79, but they would probably be a touch hot for your 85. I've got high miles, carbs, and CA emmissions to tangle with, so hot seems to work in my favor. BP6ES would probably be a good starting point - I've heard of a few people who run one plug colder - the BP7ES.

If you can still get the NGK BP8EVX they would be a reasonable choice -- depending on price ;) -- proper construction, non-resistor, stock (coldish) heat range, foul-resistant small-diameter Platunum electrode.

Availability and/or cost seems to vary by location so it would help if you would give your location. Here in the US, the closest available NGK to that plug would be BP8ES (standard electrode), BP8EY (standard electrode with groove), or BPR8EIX (Iridium electrode) -- or something a little hotter per Aaron's point.

Pete G.'s Brisk brand isn't as typical here as in the UK, but where are you?
