My dad is working on a deal right now to buy a Cayenne S Titanium edition. I know the 08's have come out already, test drove it this week and really beside HP not a huge difference. Dealer is giving 12k off MSRP for the Cayenne Titanium. He currently has an ML430 for trade. Now he is thinking of getting an ML 500. Which one do you think is a better car? I personally think the Cayenne.

the ML is less ugly, won't the Cayenne hold it's value better? I'd go with that

The Cayenne S Titanium is a last ditch effort to clear out the "old" body style version and make way for the new one so it will depreciate quicker out of the box than the ML. I have owned both the Cayenne S and 06 ML500, the Cayenne was more reliable but the ML was more luxurious. I would have preferred the ML had it not been in the shop half the time I owned it!

I have on of the new GL 450s. Drives circles around the ML and is "less ugly" as we say. Anything is good compared to a Range Rover though.

I turned in my Cayenne TT, for the first lot of ML63's.While the P car had more creature comforts, the ML has more control...The gearbox does what you want when you want....The P car was like a rubber band throttle , you did have to wait for a response and that resonse was not necessarily the one you wanted, kickdown was unpredictable...The Ml can do the work with raw torque...There is no substitute for displacement...Drove the 500 too. and traits are quite similar....the ML550 should be out quite soon, maybe that will be the P car non turbo's equal.
