I stopped by the local 7-11 and they didn't have it! So, the advise here has been helpful. Wife just ordered the Garmin 760. If your comment was intended toward me, you are out of line. Seeking advise from actual users is beneficial. If you don't want to reply, don't. I have NEVER asked for anything for free.

    How do you do this?[/QUOTE]

    * It comes with a USB cable to plug into your PC, then just follow the menu on the software included.

Thanks but I would rather buy the publication. Anyway, my wife already ordered the 760. :)

I too have the alpine blackbird. I also had the stereo/nav unit installed in the miata, the blackbird slides into this thing and then has in-dash navigation. After being in the car three days the nav stopped working. I had to remove the blackbird and put it on the windshield for it to work.

My biggest complaint is that it always came up with long routes using backroads no matter how it was set. It also has hardly any restaurants/gas stations in it. My $130 Mio has been much much better.

The blackbird has a bigger screen and better battery life though. The mio battery goes dead in about 20 minutes.

Absolutely NOT directed at you sir (and I am sorry if it appeared that way). More towards those fcar owners / wanna-be owners that are always begging for a free carfax report.

Actually, I have, in the past, posted Consumer Reports ratings (car batteries) from my online subscription to contribute to a thread. But I did it voluntarily. My point was directed to those individuals that start a thread that solicits information that is only availble through subscription or purchase (ie, "Can someone run a Carfax on this VIN?")

Perhaps I should just abandon this quixotic campaign to save Carfax from bankruptcy. ;)
