After being on the waiting list for the AMV8 for over 2 years, I took my name off the list a few months ago, but it wouldn't surprise me if I end up getting one sometime this year regardless. I'm not really crazy about the stock wheels on them and since I almost never put aftermarket wheels on my cars, I'm not too experienced with aftermarket wheels.

Anybody have any good suggestions for aftermarket rims on the AMV8, including pics of recommendations?

What color combination are you going with as some wheel colors and finishes look like poo depending on your paint/interior combo.

I'm not 100% sure yet, but I'm really digging that gray/silver exterior with tan/tobacco interior that I've seen a few pics of.

Here are a couple of pics of a 360 that has rims I like and what I have in mind for the AMV8...

I see in your avatar that you have a blue 430. Would you consider a blue AMV8? At the end of May, I'll post pictures of a Metallic Blue AMV8 that someone I know is getting.

The wheels you posted are GFG GF1-5s in case you were looking for the brand. As for grey on tan I would suggest a black centered wheel with a polished lip, race gold center with a polished lip, or anthracite/gun metal grey with a polished lip.

    Nice auto show pic... ;)

The stock 7 spokes I like, but something with a rear lip would be great on that car.

I have seen pics of the dark blue AMV8 you're referring too and I did in fact like it, but not as much as I'm liking this color combo...

Cool, thanks for the info on the brand. I'll definately keep 'em in mind when I'm ready to get the car. Part of the reason I like them as much as I do is bcz they're not overly bling bling.

I didn't like the stock wheels in the pictures but when I saw the AMV8, the wheels looked gorgeous.

Why did you take your name off?? Is this car going to have a waiting list? Even if you still didn't want the car you could have probally sold it for over sticker.

Anyone know what the wait is on one of these?

I took my name off the list bcz I was annoyed with my dealership. I got on the list just after I first saw the car at the Jan '03 Detroit auto show (yes, 3 friggin years ago). I believe I was one of the first few to put a deposit down. A few months ago when they finally started getting close to delivering them, the dealership told me they were coming out around March - April and that I would get mine around Aug - Sept. Here in Michigan I have zero interest in taking delivery of a car a couple of months away from the winter, so I told them forget it and to send my deposit back. I felt like they shafted me on the list.

So when the auto show rolled back by Detroit a few months ago, I decided to stop by the Aston display and take a look at it. I had a long conversation with the general manager and told him how I felt, what exactly happened, etc... and said that I might still end up getting the car anyway. IMO I didn't give up a valuble spot on the list bcz I would rather wait until March of '07 to get the car rather than Sept of '06, so that probably works out better for me anyway.

In terms of the list, I'm not sure how long they are and how much they'll be going for over sticker soon, but as with any other car besides Ferrari, it won't last and they will be readily available at MSRP within a few months. They always are.

I have one on order. I got the 7 spoke 19" optional wheels. Delivery was pushed back from Sept 06 to Jan 07.

How do you want the wheels to work with the car? i.e. do you want the wheels to move attention to the car, share attention with the car somewhat evenly or be stunning on their own? Any of the above options is justifiable, it just depends on your tastes.
