+1. Also heard a rumor from my local jeweler last week that rolex was going to 'upgrade' the bracelet on the current sub in the next 6 months or so which might effect the price on some of the used market.
I also have a collection of watches including 6 Daytona's but this is the watch I consistently find myself wearing. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have a collection of watches from Tag-Heuer to Cartier to Omega to Rolex to Locman and I find my Rolex Submariner to be the one I wear the most. It is just a great everyday watch...and I even wear it when I SCUBA dive; although my dive computer now does what once once done via a dive watch plus a whole lot more...
Asking which watch to get is a little like asking which girl to date. Everyone is going to have their idea of the best for them. I'm convinced that watches over $100 are just "man jewelry". They don't keep better time than a Timex and you can get all kinds of functions for under $100. So, when I want to wear a watch, it's pretty much the only thing I wear with metal. That said, you should get the 18k version. Why? Because you said you liked it and want it. I've never been disappointed in a watch I've purchased because it's special to me. Each of us here put on a watch that they like and fits them figuratively and literally. I guarantee you will be happiest with the one that wasn't a compromise. I'm very fond of my watches and they typically become conversation starters as people notice them. I appreciate meeting new people, and a watch that has a little of you in it makes it easy. Good luck
I also have two Daytonas and I wear my steel/gold everyday. There is something about Daytonas, can't beat them.
I just bought the new GMT II Ceramic in SS! I just love everything that Rolex has done to this watch. New maxi dial, new Daytona like strap, scratch resistent ceramic bezel......and on and on. Here is a pic of the beauty! Hopefull it will come early next week ! Image Unavailable, Please Login

Heading to Bonaire tomorrow to dive for a week and taking the Submariner although I agree that it is a little unnecessary to wear it when using a dive computer. Still fun to have it on though!
It seems like every time I see a picture of a Sea Dweller on a forum (twice now) someone is right behind him saying it's a fake. Is this an ongoing joke, or is every Sea Dweller fake?
I am getting ready to buy a new style GMT II or a Sea-Dweller Deep Sea. Tried them both on yesterday, but havent made my mind up yet. A few of mine: Image Unavailable, Please Login
If 2010 is the year that Rolex finally come out with a PVD or DLC, then I am in. That black "Rolecks" looks great. Too bad the dollar is crapping so the British Pro Hunter version is ridiculously expensive.. just my opinion Jay
I recently bought a Rolex 5513 Sub with a Gilt dial, dated 1966 which is my fav. daily beater Rolex. S
