I feel that there is a distinct difference in sound from when Brian Jones was with the band, and then after his death, with Ron Woods.

When they were doing heavy drugs in the early/mid-70s. Whatever era that was, that was the best.

I have been told that Sticky Fingers is the best ever coke album. Not that I would know. I was a poor hippie during that time period.

Yeah, another vote for the drug days. "Get Yer Ya Ya's Out" is one of the best live albums, IMO. I noticed Mick Taylor wasn't an option here. I don't think MT was submissive enough for the band, which is too bad because he's a great musician.

I was told the Keith Richards is going to play Johnny Depp's father in "Pirates of the Caribbean 3"

    Surely this can't be true.

I prefer the 70s-early 80s Stones. Before the million dollar paydays.......

I heard that Johnny Depp played the character as Keith Richards. After I heard this, I went back and watched the movie again, and he does indeed sound very much like Keith Richards.

It's true. They tried to have him in the current film but he couldn't fit in the filming with their touring. Depp did pattern his character after Keith.
