I am looking into purchasing a 458, and know which options are important for me, and which I can do without. What I don't know, are which seats I should be looking for.

If you have experience with the different style of 458 seats, can you let me know what your thoughts are on the comfort of each (standard, Daytona, racing). I've driven a 458 with the standard seats, and thought they were pretty comfortable. I've also seen a couple of 458s for sale with racing seats, and wonder if they would be uncomfortable driving long distances.

Thanks for any input based on your experiences.

    Hi

I've just bought one and always wanted Daytona but having sat in and driven racing sports seats, they are incredibly supportive and comfortable, so that is my recommendation to you.

Although my experience has been Daytona's in my 430 and racing seats in my 458, I can tell you that both my wife and I prefer the racing seats. Honestly, you can't go wrong with either. if you are agnostic toward the seats, then go with the car that provides the options you want.

I thought Daytona is a styling pattern that can be applied on standard and racing seats, so that the main choice is actually between standard and racing.
Racing seats provide more support but standard seats have been improved from generation to generation (whereas the racing seats have been similar for a while); for instance I initially believed I would need the racing seats (based on experience of older models) but after testing the standard seats of the 488 I was happy with them. The best is to test both solutions of the same generation (458 here if I understand) to decide.

Race seats or nothing for me. A car without the race seats I would not even consider.

Originally I wanted racing seats but I bought mine with Daytona seats and I couldn't be more happy. Extremely comfortable for longer drives.

For a standard 458 I would choose the comfort seats, with Daytona styling. More comfortable.

I know we sometimes ask questions to hopefully gain support for what we are already thinking, but this is one of those questions that comes up regularly and will always have the same responses, almost 50/50 split on personal preference, especially given that the new standard seats in the 488 are better than the older versions (IMO). I went with the race seats (Goldrake) in my soon to be delivered 488 Spider, based on my experience with them at a Corso Pilota. I have also driven a 488 with the standard seats and found them comfortable and supportive, but I preferred the look of the race seats (to me, they were also "slightly" more supportive). The best advice was already mentioned above, try both seats and decide for yourself.
