I am rebuilding the front shock absorbers on my 550 and have two sets of coil springs to choose from, one set are the originals to the car part number 163648 with wire OD of 15.5mm and 7 coils made by Eibach/Federn and another from a spare set of shockers (ex 550 )which have wire OD of 15.35 and 5.5 coils part number 175886 made by A Cagnola of Monza.Does any one have any knowledge that can direct me and also the length that they should be set at when mounted on the shocker.

The latter shows in the parts book as for Fiorano equipped cars - presumably mixing standard rear and Fiorano front could give interesting (!) handling results

James- Here are the settings for the FHP front springs. The FHP springs are shorter and stiffer than the other set you have. Differences in paint thickness can make measurements of wire diameter vary. FHP suspension parts are hard to find, so you may have difficulty finding a matching pair of rear springs. Using just the stiffer fronts will tend to increase understeer.
