I'm finally getting close to getting an Fcar in my garage, but was wondering what other owners have experienced for selecting parking in the downtown core. I've seen a 355 in the Hyatt lot before, but others seem to be parked on the street (esp at Umberto's).

Any safer choices for after-hours? Thx!

    Concerns are:
    1. ground clearance - long ramps probably better than short ramps?
    2. wide spots for doors to open (likely a 348tb or spider)

It is also good to try one of the hotels with a large driveway, slip the head bellman $20 and tell him you would like to leave it in front, where they can watch it. Works well at the Sheraton....not always at the Sutton Place, since they have little space in front.

You are right though, you want long, gentle ramps, and a large spot to allow the doors ample room to open. If I park in a lot, I want the end spot, then take the far outside edge, so I prevent other car doors from hitting my car.

Congrats on the expected purchase of your Ferrari Tom (welcome to the club)! :)

Are you looking at the tb that's at FMofV? I took a good look at that car when I last visited there in Dec '04... Very nice.

Thx Peter! although haven't quite bought yet, but it's down to "short strokes" now. The 348tb at FMoV drives great - and my wife approved; better ergonomics on her side than the Mustang Cobra - an advantage of coming from an American car.

PM me for more details, there seems to be a few conflicting stories on the car. My instinct is to trust Kirk on the history, and the repair damage on the front right looks to be put together v. well.

I'm salivating over a 348spider at the moment, stay tuned.

Any word on the Elise availability Peter? thought I saw you over on the Lotus forum a few weeks back.

    ?

I know of two 348 tb's (one a fellow club member, the other unknown and which I don't know of all the details), that have had major shunts, but I don't know what the story is of this car in question...

To me, it looked nice and straight, but then again, I didn't crawl underneath the car to take a look.

Repairs done by Korva? If so, they do excellent work (my GT4 has been there before...)

You mean elisetalk.com? I'm a member there, but visit occasionaly. I havent heard anything yet and I'm really doubtful we will get this current version Elise, but I've seen John Scotti's ad's claiming he's taking orders on '05's...

Burrard Autostrasse if I remember correctly, and looked good to my eye, and good enough to take home to the wife. I'm starting to learn many resale Fcars in Vancouver have visited Korva one time or another.

Expect pretty much any Ferrari to have had the front bumper and possibly the hood repainted...it is expected. Now crash damage, that's another story. ;)

oh - agreed Dave. A colleague has his 560SEC's bumpers sanded and painted yearly, along with the oil change i think. Part of life in the city.

I'm curious though if anyone else has a few more parkades to add with long gentle ramps and wide spots? ToddB suggested the lot next to the Terminal City Club, also the Sheraton Wall Tower doorman; any others? I'm suspecting the Bentall lot is a bit too steep.
